I know there are plugins to magicaly transfere fuel between nearby ships 'quantum resource transfer', 'Merlin's'but I also read that its possible to transfere fuel between docked ships but Be aware that you cannot deselect them or the transfer will stop, and this will change your center of mass as it happens.

No Problem to transfer fuel from one to another. If your fuel tank and capsule with docking port is seperated by a heat shield you can transfer fuel from an docked vessel without any problem. I don't want to try docking if I can't get more fuel into my ship. I've tried a external fuel pipe from the capsule past the heat shield to the fuel tank, but it doesn't stick. How do you transfer fuel from a docking orbital station with fuel if your docking port is on top of the capsule and your heat shield says it is non-cross feeding. Next time you launch a ship you should be a small icon on the top left of your screen with an icon of a fuel pump.Р”Р‡rom there you will have access to all fuel tanks in your ship, you can lock'em, set them to intake, outake, balance and dump, between any two cans on your ship, regardless of pipes and fuel crossfeed.
